The emergence of the optical tunnelling process has worked effectively for the development of the terahertz multiplexers which are ultra-compact too. Speaking about the specifications of the chips their shape is quite commendable. They are in such a way that they work effectively in combining and splitting the channels. In this way, more data will be processed in a shorter duration.

In this world of the growing population, more people use their mobile devices to access the internet. Therefore, the total number of connected devices in the world are increasing day by day. It speaks of the increased requirement for a much more effective wireless network, where the data transfer is effective even for sharing larger volumes of files. 

The efficiency of this new technology is beyond imagination. It will cover a bandwidth that is 30 times. The fastest technology now available is that of the 4G/ LTE. The promise for the next generation is the 5G using the silicon multiplexer.  With the new possibilities, super high-speed data transfer would be possible, and it would be cost-effective also. The estimated data rate is 48gigabits per second, which is equal to streaming an 8K high definition video.
