COVID vaccines were being given in India in different phases. The first phases consisted of the elderly, followed by the middle-aged and then the young adults. From April 28th, 2021, the citizen above 18 years of old could start registering for their vaccines. The registration for the vaccines is being done through the Aarogya Setu, Umang app, and the COWIN Portal.
The citizens above the age of 18 can now easily register for their vaccination first shot to be taken through the Cowin Portal or the Arogya Setu App. Both of these facilities were launched last year, 2020, following the need to update the coronavirus news.
It was the people above the age of 45 years old, health and frontline workers that were allowed to take the vaccine till now. However, from May 1st, 2021, the adults of the country can also avail the facility. However, they have to compulsorily register themselves for the procedure only after which, they are given the shots.

Where to Register?
Visit the Portal https://www.CoWin.gov.in/home to register for the vaccine. Online the Eligible citizens would be able to register.

Procedure to register using Aarogya Setu App
Open the app and select the Cowin tab that is present on the home screen. Select vaccination registration from the options. A new tab appears, and in the blank provided, enter the phone number. Once the user confirms, they would receive an OTP, which should be entered and press the verify button. The user would then be directed to the registration page, where the same steps would be followed. The adults choose a date from the first of May onwards.
Following successful completion of the online registration, the beneficiary would receive a confirmation message to their registered mobile number. They would include details of the centre, date and time of the vaccination. Make sure to carry the appointment confirmation slip and the photo id to the centre on the D day.
